Thanks!! Do you have to steam the veggies? I'm really clueless. Haha. I just bought him some organic oatmeal but I am unsure if I want to start him on it. I just want the best for my boy!
Yes, steaming them is best! It keeps in all the nutrients better than boiling. And baby bullet has a steamer you can get as well! It also come with a recipe book that gives you step by step! How old is he now? You’ll probably want to start him with brown rice cereal first though, oatmeal is a little thick for first timers! :) and you can make your own with whole grain brown rice with the baby bullet! :)
I'm going to introduce food to my son soon but I want to make it for him. I heard it's kind of a pain, do you have an advice on it? :)
I promise you, not a pain at all!! Pfenix has never eaten any store bought baby food, I’ve made everything from his cereal purée to his fruit and veggie puréed!! The baby bullet is seriously like the best invention ever for moms like us! You can buy it online, at babies r us, at wal mart, and you can even call in the infomercial for it! It is 60 bucks, but worth every penny! I used pfenix’s up until it broke on a plane ride when he was nine months old, and of it weren’t for him eating solids, we would have bought another! I hope that helped! And don’t give up the natural diet fight! It’s not as hard as people make it out to be, and it’s so nice to know that your son is getting the best of everything!! :)
What bad rep did you have in Cali. Like doing drugs or??
Yes. It is a part of our life that Jarrod and I are not proud of, but it is a part of who we are. We are human, we made mistakes, but we are stronger people now because of our past, and I won’t deny it. We learned a LOT of life lessons from that time, all lessons we will never experience again. And in all honesty I feel it has in a way prepared us for our future of parenthood during Pfenix’s teenage and young adult life because we have a better idea of what to teach and tell our son, and also what to look for if and when that time ever comes in his life. But instead of being naive in thinking that our son will never experiment, or stray down that path, we know how to prevent it by educating him by our life experience.
Everything in life happens for a reason. That mistake in ours included.
Well hello again, I am coming to you because I feel extremely anxious and overwhelmed. First off, how long were you and your husband dating before you were married? Was it before or after Pfeonix? My boyfriend wants kids something fierce but we have NOT been dating long whatsoever and I know that my parents would be so disappointed if I became pregnant/engaged without finishing college...But I feel like we are wanting our lives to move so much faster than they are. Ugh, I want to be a mom so bad
Hello darling! I could see why you’re overwhelmed! Haha. But to be honest, Jarrod and I were only dating for 3.5 months before we eloped, and now we will have been happily married for 2.5 years! :) You cannot put a time frame on love, when you know, you know. And there’s no point in waiting if it’s true. We were also only married for 6 months before we became pregnant with Pfenix!
I of course do not know your relationship with your parents, nor about your relationship with your boyfriend, but if it were me, and I felt we were ready 100 percent, and wanted to start our family already, then I wouldn’t give a rats ass about what anyone had to say about it. Marriage is a piece of paper. It’s the love, trust, and loyalty that matter most. When you have all those things, and then you have a child, it carries on to that relationship as well.
I would most definitely read a little bit more about parenthood, because it is hard, and make sure you are financially ready to support a new family, and have many more deep conversations with your boyfriend before you fully decide! Because it’s the little diddle that can’t be undid! :) Good luck honey bun, and if you’d like to know anything more, don’t hesitate to ask!! >.
Well well well, I found you on Tumblr. I'm excited to follow your Tennessee life on here. I think we need to exchange numbers and become bffs actually
Lookie Lookie loo! :) And now I found you too! :) But I think this may be a wonderful idea! Give me yours and I’ll text you mine since I only check tumblr on my phone and I can’t message or answer privately on my app! Let the adventure begin.
Do you eat any Morningstar, Quorn, or Amy's products? Do you have any go-to vegetarian recipe websites? I'm a relatively new vegetarian, thanks :)
Yes! I use all of those products. Morningstar is great for burgers, corn dogs, breakfast stuff, etc; Amy’s is great for taking lunch to work/ school/ quick meals on the go; and quorn is great for substituting meat in ANY meal. Another good product is gardein, and eggplant is another go-to substitute!
What Jarrod and I usually do is pick out something we want, like fettuccine Alfredo for instance, and use quorn “chicken” to substitute the meat. Or use morningstar’s “meat” grounds for tacos or chili. The possibilities are endless, and you really don’t have to stop eating any of your favorite meals, you just have to do some substituting! And don’t forget to sub vegetable broth for any other broth, and no gelatin! Those are typical mishaps for all beginners!!
Good luck and congratulations!! :)
